The Creative Strategist sits at the intersection of Creative, Organic Social, and Performance Marketing, shaping how Halfdays shows up across its most dynamic and high-frequency consumer channels.
This role owns organic social creative strategy and develops paid digital creative strategy in partnership with Digital Marketing, translating business priorities, product stories, campaign assets, consumer insights, and channel performance into compelling creative concepts and clear, actionable briefs.
They will translate channel performance and consumer insights into recommendations for what Halfdays should create next, while building a more streamlined briefing, production, and feedback process across Paid and Social.The role partners closely with the Art Director on visual direction and manages the team and creative resources responsible for day-to-day social execution and dedicated Paid/Social creative production.
What You’ll Do:
Creative Briefing
Own the creative briefing process for Organic Social in partnership with Brand Marketing
Develop paid creative recommendations and briefs in partnership with Digital Marketing
Translate product priorities, campaign stories, consumer insights, cultural moments, and performance learnings into clear creative opportunities.
Identify opportunities to streamline creative development across Paid and Social, reducing duplicated work and creating greater efficiencies across briefing and production.
Build a strong feedback loop between creative development and channel performance so learnings continuously inform what gets created next.
Partner closely with the Art Director to ensure channel-specific creative remains connected to the overarching Halfdays visual identity.
Paid Creative & Performance
Partner closely with Digital Marketing to develop and execute paid creative that supports performance objectives while remaining distinctly Halfdays.
Translate consumer insights, product priorities, and performance learnings into creative recommendations, briefs, concepts, and iterations.
Ensure paid media asset needs are incorporated into creative and production planning from the beginning rather than addressed after assets are delivered.
Coordinate dedicated paid creative resources, including graphic designers and/or video editors, to execute approved concepts, iterations, and adaptations.
Participate in a regular creative performance feedback loop with Digital Marketing to understand what’s working, develop hypotheses around why, and recommend what to create next.
Organic Social Creative
Own the visual creative direction of organic social, ensuring every touchpoint feels cohesive, elevated, and distinctly on-brand.
Translate brand campaigns and seasonal creative into compelling, social-first concepts across Reels, Stories, carousels, and still imagery.
Develop and evolve the brand’s social visual language, including composition, typography, graphic treatments, editing styles, pacing, and platform-native creative formats.
Art direct social-first shoots and content capture, from concepting and shot lists through on-set direction and final asset selection.
Partner closely with the Social Media & Content Associate to concept recurring franchises, series, and creative formats that build a recognizable and ownable social presence.
Provide hands-on creative direction and feedback to photographers, videographers, designers, editors, creators, and UGC partners producing content for social.
Identify opportunities to make existing campaign and e-commerce assets feel native to social through thoughtful cropping, sequencing, editing, graphics, and storytelling.
Stay closely connected to emerging visual trends, formats, and platform behaviors, translating relevant trends through the brand’s creative lens rather than simply replicating them.
Regularly review social creative performance and partner with the Social Media & Content Associate and Director of Brand Marketing to apply learnings to future concepts, formats, and creative direction.
Maintain a high creative bar across the social calendar, ensuring content feels intentional and differentiated rather than repetitive or overly reliant on campaign assets.
Build and maintain social-specific creative guidelines and references that help internal teams and external partners consistently execute against the brand vision.
Paid & Social Creative Production
Own a dedicated Paid/Social creative production budget in partnership with Brand Marketing and Digital.
Develop creative briefs, concepts, shot lists, collected references, and channel-specific requirements for dedicated Paid and Social productions
Translate approved creative strategy into concepts, shot lists, and channel requirements for Paid/Social shoots
Partner with the Art Director on art direction and visual execution to ensure productions feel distinctly Halfdays.
Identify opportunities to efficiently leverage and adapt existing campaign and brand assets before commissioning net-new production.
Build a more agile creative production model that allows Halfdays to quickly respond to performance insights, social trends, product priorities, and emerging creative opportunities.

Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in creative direction, brand strategy, or creative strategy, ideally within fashion, beauty, or lifestyle categories
Proven ability to lead creative vision across ecommerce, editorial campaigns, and product marketing — from concept through execution
Experience directing photo/video productions and managing the creative process independently, including working with cross-functional teams (brand, digital/ecomm, product)
Background spanning both in-house and agency or consulting environments, with comfort operating at both strategic and hands-on execution levels
Track record of building brand identity systems and creative frameworks that scale across campaigns and channels
Working knowledge of paid media and performance marketing as it intersects with creative (what converts, not just what looks good)
Experience managing multiple client or brand relationships simultaneously, ideally in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, etc.) and fluency in current visual/social trends
A portfolio demonstrating range across editorial, ecommerce, and campaign work
Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable owning a project end-to-end without heavy oversight
