Director of Brand Marketing
Halfdays is hiring an Art Director to shape how our brand looks and feels across every touchpoint. You will lead the visual expression of Halfdays across campaigns, launches, e-commerce, retail, social, and brand storytelling. You are equal parts conceptual and hands-on, with the taste to define a strong point of view and the executional rigor to bring it to life at a high level.
You’ll partner closely with the co-founder and Brand Director, Director of Brand Marketing, Director of Digital Marketing, and cross-functional teams to translate brand strategy into creative that is distinctive, consistent, and commercially effective. This role is for someone who knows how to build a brand world, not just make assets.
What you'll do:
Creative Direction & Brand Expression
Own and evolve Halfdays’ visual identity across campaigns, product storytelling, social, ads, retail, e-commerce, and brand moments.
Translate brand strategy into compelling creative concepts and executions that feel modern, elevated, and emotionally resonant.
Define and uphold creative standards across photography, styling, casting, layout, typography, color, and design systems.
Ensure the brand shows up consistently across every touchpoint while leaving room for freshness and evolution.
Campaigns & Launches
Lead art direction for seasonal campaigns, product launches, collaborations, and evergreen brand storytelling.
Partner with Brand Marketing on creative briefs and campaign development from concept through final delivery.
Build creative presentations, mood boards, shot lists, references, and visual frameworks that guide internal alignment and execution.
Help shape how Halfdays shows up across hero moments and everyday content, balancing brand-building with business needs.
Shoots & Content Production
Lead photo and video shoots from pre-production through on-set direction and post-production review.
Own key creative decisions across casting, styling, location, set design, pacing, framing, and overall visual storytelling.
Manage external photographers, stylists, hair and makeup, production teams, editors, and freelancers to deliver best-in-class creative.
Bring strong creative judgment on set and make clear, fast decisions that improve the work.
Cross-Channel Creative Execution
Oversee creative output across e-commerce, email, paid social, organic social, retail graphics, packaging, and brand collateral.
Partner closely with the Digital team to ensure creative is channel-aware and performance-minded without compromising the brand.
Build systems and workflows that support efficient, high-quality execution across both large campaigns and fast-turn needs.
Review and refine work to ensure a high standard of craft, consistency, and clarity.
Team & Creative Operations
Help manage and mentor designers, freelancers, and creative partners, raising the bar through clear feedback and strong direction.
Contribute to better creative processes, timelines, asset organization, and team rhythms as the business grows.
Balance ambition and practicality, knowing when to push for more and when to make smart tradeoffs.
Stay close to timelines, budgets, and deliverables without becoming the person who kills the magic with a spreadsheet.
6-8+ years of experience in art direction with a strong portfolio spanning brand campaigns, editorial, and digital creative.
Experience at a high-growth consumer brand in fashion, outdoor, activewear, beauty, or lifestyle.
Strong visual instincts and a clear point of view, with the ability to create work that feels differentiated and brand-right.
Experienced in concepting and leading shoots from idea through execution.
Deep understanding of photography, styling, design, casting, layout, and visual storytelling.
Comfortable working cross-functionally with Brand, Digital, Product, Retail, and E-commerce partners.
Strong operator with attention to detail across briefs, production, timelines, and creative reviews.
Highly organized, decisive, and energized by building in a fast-moving environment.
Authentically connected to style, sport, and outdoor culture, with a sharp sense for what feels current versus what feels forced.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Figma is a plus.
